Teddy bear
Spency
The Teddy bear friend
Can a small gesture ease the psychological distress of a child who is experiencing trauma? And can Spencer, leader in the production of emergency devices, introduce a new practice to be closer to the medical emergency world? The affirmative answers to
these questions, our efficient co-operation with the G. Gaslini Institute of Genoa (Italy), the experience of other organizations active in the paediatric field, such as Good Bears of the World of De Bilt (Netherlands), CPEM of New York (USA), Mount Saint Vincent University of Halifax (Canada), have positively lead us to initiate the global Spency project. The project consists of donating a Teddy bear to children with psychological distress caused by accidents, fires and all other kinds of situations in which they are taken into care by rescuers, considered as strangers.

A lot of written documents prove that a more likely and faster psychological improvement is achieved when a Teddy bear is given to a child. As a leader in the production and distribution of medical emergency and first aid devices, Spencer takes positive action in spreading this project worldwide. Some fire rescue units and police departments already use Spency regularly when children are involved in emergency situations. When operators give the soft Spency to children facing difficult situations, the Teddy bear is therapeutic and also helps rescuers to open a dialogue with their small patients. We would like you to be directly involved in this new initiative. Your contribution is very important to create a database to which everyone has easy access and that will support the Spency
project.
