Restraints
The seams
Thanks to a new electronic system which controls the tension of the thread (active tension)
the re-enforcement stitching used in the manufacture of our safety belts, no matter what
kind of strap, assures high quality with uniform stitching that is reliable.
The high frequency welding
Biostrap is produced using HFW high frequency welding which allows for the joining of two parts without the use of glue or adhesives but with controlled fusion of the materials.
This kind of welding which exploits the dielectric properties of the material, guarantees
an exceptional strength and avoids the danger of infiltration.
The webbings
Jaquard
Standard safety belt
Incomparable quality for the Jaquard webbing produced by weaving threads of the
same colour but of different fibres which form a positive image for the logo. Apart from
having a greater consistency and softer touch, durability and finishing are also improved.
This is the reason why Spencer belts have become famous worldwide. Polypropylene straps:
- resistant to fungus and bacteria
- resistant to acids and alkalines
- resistant to abrasions
- high mechanical resistance
- does not retain humidity
- does not absorb water
- flexible and adapt for use in extreme temperatures
- stabilized against UV rays
- antistatic treatment to avoid dust attraction
- washable in cold water
Biostrap
Secure safety belt
Spencer’s mission in search of excellence and innovation never ceases. The need for prevention and control of sanitation within the health environment has encouraged us to
develop a new safety belt, which reduces the risk of the spreading of infection. Biostrap is
the result of an audacious and ingenious experiment, born from a successful mixture of
a tenacious nylon strapping generously covered with polyurethane or PVC, which renders
it completely impermeable, thus unrivalled for its performance:
- completely impermeable
- flexible even in extreme temperatures
- assembled using radio frequency welding
- high resistance to abrasions
- high mechanical resistance
- does not retain humidity
- economical to use
- resistant to fungus and bacteria
Scotchbelt
High visibility safety belt
Scotchbelt is made using an innovative method which allows the weaving of nylon
straps using two reflective threads (2 mm [0.07 in])along the entire length of the webbing, guaranteeing durability. The reflectivity is maintained even for highly inclined rays with respect to the area of incidence, and is guaranteed for the entire duration of the nylon supports. Both by day and by night, Scotchbelt guarantees high performance that has an absolutely competitive price. The Scotchbelt safety belts become the protagonists of an innovative process for products in their functional and aesthetic value with the creation of a range of colours and radically new finishings in order to better adapt to the needs of the highly competent market of emergency products which is in continual evolution.

Spring catches
Pin terminals
This is a rapid and practical method for attaching safety belts to spinal boards which is used when an integral X-ray compatibility is not required. It is made in aluminium or zama
and has a generous opening to enable docking to the tubular frameworks of certain stretchers
on the market today. Can be applied to:
- spinal boards
- some self-loading stretchers
Slipknot
Universal terminal
The traditional method of attachment allows for application to all types of stretchers and armchairs with all the different frameworks. The non-slip slipknot is found at the end of the webbing in the distal part, to guarantee secure and practical application. It is ideal for aids that are not frequently use. Can be applied to:
- all stretcher frameworks
- all chair frameworks
- many spinal boards
- other emergency equipment
GDT
Terminal for dedicated interface
For Spencer, innovation is synonymous with absolute simplicity, extreme comfort and an
unequalled functionality. Offering technological advantages in all rescue operations is the
best way to simplify life and offer you the maximum of comfort on a daily basis. GDT-strap, a new, intuitive, rapid and secure method for fastening, which finds a natural and secure position in the Spencer aids which have the relative interfacings. A new method of
fastening that can be removed with simplicity for both correct positioning and for the operation of sanitizing. The buckle is in nylon which has a high mechanical resistance and optimal rigidity. Can be applied to:
- stretcher with GDT loading platform
- chair with GDT seat and backrest
- spinal board with GDT system
The safety belts
The extent of the range of safety belts means that a precise solution is available for every
requirement. Starting from the basic style, a vast range and combination of styles, imensions of straps, function and quality of the buckle material has developed. Each one has
been carefully studied to make use even more rapid, secure and efficient. The belts limit the movement of the patient and are all adjustable and easy to apply thanks to the quick-release buckles.

STX 499
Universal adjustable thorax belt
This extendable shoulder harness system optimizes the stability of the patient. The system is composed of four adjustable belts, two for the thorax and two for the shoulders, which are individually anchored to the framework of the back of the stretcher. They are fastened at the centre with a metal quick-release SCR buckle which has a support in cold moulded chromed metal. The belt is anchored to the backrest of the stretcher and can be used with many of the stretchers already existing on the market.
Made with a soft 50 mm [1.96 in] webbing STX 499 it has to be integrated with the two STX 592
belts to give complete assurance to the patient. The possibility to regulate each single
sector of the belt means that it can be adapted, with precision, to a variety of patient
builds.

DNA Strap
Belt with integrated re-winding system
Through the interpretation of the needs of rescue workers, Spencer continues to evolve
and establish new trends rather than just follow them. From the onset the challenge has been to overcome the boundaries of space and the limitations of the belts in order to meet the
daily needs of stretchers in every part of the world. The answer to this challenge is in the
DNA Strap. Here we have a retractable belt that is an optional for all Spencer products that are equipped with the DNA system.
The winding system, which contains a sector of the belt, is housed within the lining of the patient board in the backrest of the seat or the body of the spinal board. Thanks to tension and to a simple kinetic mechanism the belt is easily extracted for use. This is the best way to always have at hand the patient restraints and to automatically store them
without having to worry about any obstruction during transfer. Discover our innovative range
of DNA Strap safety belts, that distinguish themselves for the wide choice of style,
extraordinary flexibility in use, versatility in adaptation to differing builds and a very new conception of storage along with all the traditional characteristics of the Spencer belts; reliability, safety and maximum levels of durability and dual compatibility.
