Based in Carrollton, Georgia, RescueTech was founded in 1982 and has built its business around equipment for technical rescue professionals.

Its portfolio covers rope rescue, confined-space rescue, high-angle operations, water and ice rescue, search and rescue, fall protection and related safety applications. RescueTech also manufactures and distributes products including rescue ropes, harnesses, pulleys, slings, descent devices, equipment packs and other life-safety systems.

The company has developed a particularly strong position in technical rope rescue, combining its own manufacturing activity with selected specialist products from other manufacturers. RescueTech’s in-house capabilities include sewn rescue equipment, harnesses, bags and lifelines, supported by decades of experience in rescue and fire operations.

Protect Medical already brings together companies working across EMS, rescue, tactical, first aid, hospital and mortuary applications.

RescueTech strengthens the Rescue and Tactical side of that structure with specialist equipment for scenarios where access to the casualty can be as challenging as the subsequent treatment and transport.

This is particularly relevant when looking at the emergency-response chain as a whole. Patient care does not always begin beside an ambulance. In many incidents, rescuers first have to reach, stabilise and extract a casualty from height, confined spaces, water, industrial environments or difficult terrain before conventional patient handling and transport can begin.

Bringing RescueTech into Protect Medical gives the Group deeper technical-rescue expertise while creating opportunities to better connect the different stages of that process — from access and extraction to patient handling and transport.

The acquisition also gave Protect Medical a direct platform in the U.S. rescue market. RescueTech has an established manufacturing and distribution base in Georgia and serves fire/rescue, industrial, military and tactical customers across North America.

This local presence strengthens the Group’s ability to develop its activities in the U.S. while bringing RescueTech into a wider international network of Protect Medical companies, products and distribution partners.

For Spencer, that means another specialist company within the Group with established knowledge of a market and rescue environment that is strategically important for future growth.

RescueTech’s arrival within Protect Medical reinforces the logic behind the Group: specialist companies retaining their own expertise while contributing to a broader emergency and rescue offering.
